About the Role:

As an early member of our team, you'll collaborate with our co-founders and the entire engineering team to ideate, develop features, and create whole product areas. As we continue to build our platform and rapidly grow our customer base, you'll be partnering with other engineers and customers to ensure we're building out systems that can scale.

In this role, you will conceptualize, design, build, and ship the backend services and infrastructure. You will be continuously learning new tech and skills, and this role would be best suited for somebody who thrives in this kind of environment!

Our Tech Stack:

On our frontend, we use Typescript, Node.js, React, Relay, GraphQL & Postgres. We’re making use of the latest and greatest SaaS services like Auth0, Hasura, and Netlify to stay focused on our core product. Being an early member of our team, you’ll be creating easy-to-use flows for complicated concepts and will be instrumental in designing this architecture.

On the backend, we use Java, gRPC+protobuf, Armeria based microservices. Our infrastructure is maintained using Terraform, and we use AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker deployment. We also use New Relic and Sentry for observability and alerting.

What You Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience building backends for web applications.
  • Experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., Java, Go, Python, C, etc…
  • Experience with monitoring systems, release engineering, and core deployment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a bias for action.
  • Self-awareness, a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and empathy.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
  • Completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR have relevant training, fellowship, or work experience.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience building integrations with third-party products such as Google, Zoom, Greenhouse, and Lever.
  • Experience using AWS, and other DevOps tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of the Git workflow (pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD systems).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary in the range of $90,000 - $120,000, based on experience.
